Horse Racing Rules & Info
Races begin at 1:30 on Saturday and Sunday.
All horses need to have a current negative cog-gins, no exceptions.
All riders must be in a saddle with stirrups.
- You may not tie feet into stirrups.
- NO western saddles may be used in races coming out of gates.
- NO side pull bridles.
All riders must wear helmets and goggles on the track. - A limited number of goggles are available to borrow.
Signups for races will take place in the Nemadji camp by the racing barns. - Saturday racing sign ups will be Friday from 5:00-7:00 pm.
- Sunday racing sign ups will be Saturday from 5:00-7:00 pm.
- Payment is due at the time of registration.
Races will be decided by what we have registered. - Small pony
- Medium pony
- Farmers
- Thoroughbred (gates)
- 1 mile Thoroughbred derby will be on Sunday
Races are paid out first through fourth place (amount to be determined by donations). - Checks can be picked up from the Nemadji camp starting 1 hour after the final race of the day.
Hully gully starts will be used for ponies and farmers races.- Be lined up in number order at a walk when you get to the outrider.
- Do not take off until the starter drops the flag at the inside rail.
- Disqualifications may be issued at the discretion of the outrider and starter if a rider takes off too soon or cuts other horses off.
